pondering the risks
and freeing the act

The awareness that you act in the tenderness of the respect for life is given by pondering the risks framing the present life situation and acknowledging the realities of power, the of existential necessities and of actual life dangers.

Thus, the first step was to survey the facilities and resources I would have at disposal to face existential precariat and anguish: I considered my physical and mental state. I made myself aware of my needs and responsibilities as well as of my experiences, kills and material resources. I brought to mind my social network and I researched the institutional structures that could support me in ensuring the basic needs: housing, health, food, clothing.

Against this background I questioned the two situations that were up for decision, pointed out the fears they evoked and asked myself: What is the likelihood that you will experience exhaustion and illness if you persist in the recognised and rewarding position? What is the likelihood that you will experience indigence and illness if you step into the unknown? Will you put in danger the existence of any other human being you are responsible for stepping into the unknown?

Remaining true to the vital instinct that seeks the reality with the least risk of death, the rigidity melted away. Carried by the vital flow that follows necessity, which in turn shows and nurtures the step to be taken, I regained the clarity to decide and act.
